Can a customer make a partial payment through the customer portal?


When making online payments through the customer portal, the customer will not be allowed to make partial payments.  The customer portal allows the customer to pay the balance due in full, plus the option to pay one additional month's rent. If the business would like to accept a partial payment, the business can run a manual charge for the payment amount agreed upon with the customer.

To complete a manual charge, select the customer and click Actions > Record a Payment. When the payment box pops up, ensure the payment method is "credit card" and enter the appropriate payment date and amount. When you click "Save," the credit card will be charged. A manual charge can be run on any card any time, regardless of whether it is scheduled to run automatically.
